James Barton Jones

Self sustained.

James got sick during the war

and they sent him home.

Aunt Matt raised the kids. Martha Elizabeth Jones Morris 1858 Aunt Matt

She said that Ma had the kid

then turned it over to her to raise.

Aunt Matt said she did not own those negroes

they owned her.

She had to be there at all times.

No matter what you have heard

those negroes did not leave.

It was their home.

Some may still be there.
