Robert Jackson Batchelor, 84 passed away Sunday, Jan 30, 2005, at Ashley County Medical Center.

He was born Aug 5, 1920 to his parents Ray Knighton Batchelor and Nellie Lou Smith Batchelor in Heflin, Louisiana.

Mr Batchelor was a World War II veteran.

He was an electrician and a member of West Crossett Missionary Baptist Church.

He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 661 at Lake Charles, La for 53 years.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Marjorie Cart Batchelor and one son, Raoul Ray Batchelor and his wife, Karen and two grandchildren, Latonya Batchelor and Michelle Grisham of Town Creek, AL; five great-grandchildren, Blake, Alex, Larah, and Paton Grisham and Philip Chavis, all of Town Creek, AL.

His funeral was at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, Feb 2, in Crossett Missionary Baptist Church.

Brother Tony Williams did officiate. The best service in modern times. Mr Batchelor requested that the plan of salvation be presented, because lost people might not attend church at other times. Jesus died as a sacrifice to take your place.
